PROPERTY TAXES

Some counties in the Bay Area offer special benefits for homeowners with disabilities.    These benefits may include:

  • Allowing the homeowner to keep their tax base when they move due to a new home because of their disability
  • Allowing the homeowner to defer or postpone payment of their property taxes due to severe disability
  • Allowing homeowners to keep their tax base when they make improvements to their property for the purpose of making the property more accessible

Please consult a tax professional or CPA to learn more about your specific situation.
